Marcel Hirscher produced one of the classic runs in the first run at Garmisch to then go on and win the Giant Slalom with an historic gap for his 30th World Cup win. If there was any doubt as to the dominance that Hirscher has shown this year in Giant Slalom on the World Cup tour, this performance eradicated any doubt. Felix Neureuther did his best to take the home town win but had to be content with second and Benni Raich, just days after his 37th birthday took third edging out Ted Ligety and Alexis Pinturault from the podium. ...
