PARSONS & DEAS KICK OFF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN TEAM EVENT

British Skeleton's World Championship duo of Dominic Parsons and Laura Deas will both be in action a week before their teammates, having been selected to compete alongside their British Bobsleigh counter-parts in the Team Event of the 2015 FIBT World Championships in Winterberg, Germany. ... 

The team event involves one male and one female skeleton athlete plus a two-man bobsleigh and a two-woman bobsleigh. Each skeleton and bobsleigh crew will complete a run, then the times will be added up and the team with the best overall time wins the competition.

Parsons raced in the corresponding event at the last World Championships in St. Moritz, 2013, alongside current teammates Lizzy Yarnold and Donna Creighton as well as 2008 World Champion, Kristan Bromley, as GB fielded two crews in Switzerland.

Both Deas and Parsons are returning to the track in Winterberg where they won British Skeleton's World Cup selection races at the start of the year, and will be hoping to reproduce similar performances in both the team and individual events.

Lamin Deen and Simeon Williamson make up the two-man bobsleigh crew, with the latter being a two-time Summer Olympian and British Champion in the 100m. Williamson made the switch to British Bobsleigh as a product of the Association's talent scouting project.

The two-woman bobsleigh crew will be Victoria Olaoye, who is currently ranked 11th in the world as a pilot, and Lucy Onyeforo, was is also a product of the talent scouting programme.
