Hannes Reichelt took the win that many felt should have been his a year ago at the Olympics with victory in the World Championship Super G in Beaver Creek. In a race that was billed by some as the return of Aksel Lund Svindal and Bode Miller, the two heroes of racing did not fail to impress but for varying reasons: Miller crashed spectacularly, cutting his leg open and Svindal took the lead when he made it to the finish and eventually finished in sixth place.
