There is a great feeling around British Alpine skiing at the moment and Dave Ryding continued the fine run of form being shown across the board by the athletes. Madonna di Campiglio is one of the steep slopes and with the warm conditions going across Europe, the slope had been heavily salted to try and give all the racers an equal chance. With a strange course setting that saw a fast flowing top followed by a long steep section before ending on a fast flat section, the first run saw Felix Neureuther take the lead ahead of his German teammate and Andre Myhrer in third. Some of the big names, Marcel Hirscher included, were off the pace and down in 11th place. Henrik Kristofferson was another not able to replicate his form from Levi. ...
