It has been an awesome month of Giant Slalom racing for Charlie Guest. First she scores a 26 point result in Cardrona, with a third place, then betters this with a second place and a 25 point result and then throws in a 27 point result. The ANC series then gets the ... best of her as she wins the second race of the series and with that scores her first sub twenty point result in Giant Slalom, 19.35. And to add cream to the cake, she takes the lead in the ANC series for Giant Slalom!
Stefan Moser is the man guiding Guest and Alex Tilley and his description of the two girls performances in the last race was one of "dominating pretty much." Guest won by just over a second ahead of Barbara Kantorova from Bulgaria with Holland's Mandy Dirkzwager in third. Alex Tilley had been in second place yet was six tenths behind Guest despite making a mistake at the bottom of the course. "The course was only slightly changed for the second run" explained Moser, "and Tilley made a similar mistake on the second run and crashed out."

Guest has been using the New Zealand races to get used to the new ski regulations and according to Moser "Charlie is very fast on flat to medium terrain and skis very well on the new model, even better than last years model. The hard work on basics pay off now even more!"
With the time in New Zealand coming to an end, Moser is pleased with the improvements both Tilley and Guest have made. Race wins have been notched up and huge steps forward have been made by both girls. Ten days more training and then it is off to Mount Hutt and the final races.
