Jai Geyer has  been wanting to go to South America for summer training for 6 years. This year, mainly thanks to sponsorship from WorldPay and other supporters  he will shortly be boarding the plane, bound for Madrid - Spain, Beunos Aires, and finally Ushuaia in Argentina. Ushuaia, in the Tierra del Fuego region, within the antarctic circle is the southern most city,  and  calls itself "The end of the World".
Ushuaia will be full of the alpine nations World Cup skiers as the true winter conditions are there: the water injected pistes are preferable to summer glacier skiing in the Alps, and the  2013/14 race season starts in the Southern Hemisphere.
This is a great opportunity for those fortunate enough to go: The opportunity to chalk up results and lower world ranking ahead of the Northern hemisphere races, that start in late November. Jai will be training for 18 days at the ski resort of Cerro Castor, then he will fly north west to Bariloche, Patagonia, in the Andes near the Chilean border, where his race season begins.
During his time in South America, Jai has entered the following races:
- 10 Aug Chapelco GS
- 11 Aug Chapelco GS
- 13 Aug Cerro Catedral SL
- 14 Aug Cerro Catedral SL
- 15 Aug Cerro Catedral GS
- 16 Aug Cerro catedral GS
- 17 Aug Antillanco (Chile) GS
- 18 Aug Antillanco (Chile) SL
Its been a short turn around for Jai after returning from 4 weeks of training in France, but Its goodbye to  30 degree England and hello  -3 degrees in "Fin del mundo"  for the next month!
Good luck Jai!
