Aspiring winter sports stars say ‘I will be next’

Aspiring athletes from skeleton, speed-skating and disability skiing have today joined an inspirational SportsAid campaign to highlight the incredible commitment and potential among young British sportspeople.

In a bid to get the British public to back the next generation, ... Jor'dan McIntosh from skeleton, Jack Burrows from short-track speed-skating and Millie Knight from disability skiing are featured in a superb set of photographs, taken for SportsAid by Founded, while making an inspirational pledge to their sport:

“I will give my life to it. I will push myself further every day. I will make your heart beat faster. I will bring a tear to your eye. I will make you proud. Thank you for believing in me. I will be next.”

In response, SportsAid is inviting you to tap into the excitement of following an emerging talent like Jor'dan, Jack or Millie by making your own pledge to support a young athlete in your area or by making a donation to enable SportsAid's work with them.

On Twitter, for example, your pledge could be “#IWILL follow their progress with @TeamSportsAid”. Or you could make your own sporting commitment next year by saying “I will run a 10k for SportsAid”? Contact Renata Byrne at SportsAid for a fundraising pack.

Donations by text message can be sent to 70070 with the words “NEXT01 £2 / £5 / £10” (eg type “NEXT01 £10” and send it to 70070).

With the Sochi Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place next February and March - where many athletes who have been supported by SportsAid will be competing - there has never been a better time to support the next generation of British sport.
