Things get better and better for Dave Ryding as he placed third in the City Speed Europa Cup event in San Vigilio, Italy. Ryding had started from number 1 in the qualifying race and placed fifth. With Henrik Kristofferson winning the traditional slalom race, this was another high class race that Ryding will have gained more valuable Europa Cup points from. Ryding has now moved up to 8th in the Slalom standings for the Europa Cup and with the 60 points that he gained from placing third in the City Speed Event (a dual slalom), he moves up to seventh in the season long standings Overall. Ryding scored valuable Europa Cup points yet is still struggling to crack the FIS point barriers that he is looking to break so that he will start higher up in the World Cup. With Kristofferson having scored a 6 point result for winning the traditional part of the race, Ryding scored a 12.82 back in fifth place. Still a great result and one that this time last year we would have been screaming loudly about - how the bar has raised!
This completes a successful couple of races for Ryding and he now prepares for the World Cup in Madonna di Campiglio on Tuesday.
