Having grown up on the domestic circuit, Ambition Racing founder & owner Marc Telling, had been looking for an opportunity to create something new and exciting for UK racers. 2 years ago, Ambition had their foot in the door of the GBR Series as title sponsors of the event before the home nations decided to put the series out to tender, with BSA stepping in.
It was time to innovate and having been both encouraged and excited by the FIS World Cup City Events as well as seeing the atmosphere first hand at both the World Champs and World Junior Champs in recent years, telling decided to take the plunge and invest in the world class event equipment to enable Ambition to run the first events of this kind on the domestic scene.
Chill Factore was chosen as the host venue for the events with unwavering support and flexibility to create the exact course build and start area required for an event of this magnitude. In June, following Ambition’s first ever Club National Event, the Ambition Pro Tour was born, complete with Pro Slalom start rigs, mid-course drop-down and age specific knock out rounds.

In September, the event doubled in size with skiers travelling from North, South, East and West to take part. The “Drop-Down” grew in size and the 30th September event saw some of GBR’s best FIS Junior racers taking part and returning to the indoor racing scene for the first time in a long time.
Both Marc & Ambition have big plans for 2019, with an increase in the number & variety of Ambition Pro Tour events and the Winter Sports Foundation coming in as title sponsors, giving away large cash prizes.
“The partnership of Ambition & Chill Factore seems to be forever-growing and with WSF coming on board, these events are set to be huge in 2019.” Said Telling.
