Lindsey Vonn put the record straight with her 79th World Cup victory in the second Downhill in Cortina d’Ampezzo. With almost perfect conditions Vonn took the win ahead of Tina Weirather with Jacqueline Wiles of America in third. The top five was rounded out with Austria’s Ramona Siebenhofer and Michelle Gisin of Switzerland. With Sofia Goggia, winner of the first Downhill race in Cortina, crashing spectacularly from bib 3, this opened up the race though it would have been great to see the anticipated Vonn Goggia battle.
