BISS Champs see new sponsor in place

This years event was sponsored by BISS’ schools travel partner, Travel Places and with almost 350 entrants, was the biggest BISS event yet.
Kicking off with the junior event in the morning, the competition was hot with numerous experienced racers battling to become schools champions in their age groups and overall, helping to bring in points to help their schools become British Independent Schools Champions 2016.

A hard fought first run saw Aiden Urquhart from Falcons School and Abbie Parker from Kings Langley in position to take the spoils overall. The second run consolidated these positions with Aiden improving and Abbie skiing with exactly the same time as her first run.
Running with Under 8’s for the first time this year brought brand new category champions in Isabel Sadler fro Compton All Saints and Johnny Parkes from Chigwell School.
The highly contested schools categories saw South Hampstead win the girls, Eltham College the boys and new school to the competition, Longacre take the prize in the mixed group.
The afternoons senior event had 178 on the start list and was, again, very hard fought seeing wins overall from Experienced racer Nichole Shering from Brokenhurst School and Diaco Abrishami from Eltham College. The team honours were taken by New Hall in the girls, an experienced Millfield team in the boys and Solihull in the mixed.
There will be a new event next year at Chill Factore, The BISS Northern Champs. Date to be announced soon. The BISS Alpine champs runs for the 2nd year in Pila, Italy during February.
