Parrallel Giant Slalom’s have a habit of throwing up a surprise or two. The first race saw a huge upset when Marcel Hirscher was beaten by Steve Missillier opening up the top half of the draw. When Kjetil Jansrud, the defending champion crashed through a gate to let Carlo Janka in, it was anyones guess as to who would win, though many fancied the Swiss star to defeat the young french racer. Jansrud beat Leif Kristian Haugen in an all Norwegian third place race off.
