Ryding changes his priorities in the aftermath of Val d'Isere

It has been dramatic start to the season for Dave Ryding. Since finishing in 12th in the opening World Cup race of the season in Val d'Isere, Ryding has had to cope with the new experience that the success from Val d'Isere has brought. This was not your everyday experience he felt and the tiredness was evident as he prepared for the next stop on his tour: the Europa Cup Slalom in Obereggen. Obereggen has been kind to British racers, Ryding finished 4th here last year but was happy with finishing seventh this year, all things being equal. Alain Baxter won the race in 2002 when it was run as a knock out slalom.
