Telemark Series takes to Hemel

The final round of the 2014 British Indoor Telemark Series was held at The Snow a Centre, Hemel Hempstead saw Colin Shepherd and Anna Morrissey take the race victories. ...

Following three tightly contested races in Glasgow, Manchester and Tamworth the stakes were high for the Hemel final with the top races looking to take the Series title.

Races traveled from all over the UK including Team Scotland who has enjoyed a fruitful summer racing in the second British Indoor Series. The races were also well attended by members of the Forces who have started training for British Army / British Telemark Championships, which will take place in January, in the Austrian resort of Rauris.

The indoor GS combi course, set by Adrian Pery, combined 13m gates with a jump and rap (360 degree turn) followed by a short skate back up the hill to the finish. The timing of the event, held in the evening, proved to be a huge success for the sport as it was a great advert with many people enjoying a leisurely ski at The Snow Centre able to watch the uniqueness of Telemark racing.
