Madonna di Campiglio Slalom has no barriers with “Open Event” certification for disabilities

After 3Tre Committee put on a big effort to make the 61st edition of the Italian skiing classic a great show in the wake of its long-time tradition, an important news sees the last barrier to making Audi FIS World Cup Night Slalom of December 22nd an ... actually Open event finally fall. ...

Open Event is the name of the certification 3Tre has applied for, to be awarded by Trentino's Accademia della Montagna: a brand property of the Province of Trento, “Open Event” guarantees and communicates an event's compliance to every condition to make it fully and safely accessible to people with impairments, either motor or not. 2014 3Tre would become the first Alpine Skiing event to be awarded such an important certification, hoping to open a way for more realities to put on their effort to remove the barriers that are usually related to winter sports events.

No doubt that winter sports present naturally tougher conditions for people with disabilities to attend and enjoy them, - 3Tre Committee's President Lorenzo Conci -, but our mission for this edition is to open our doors to each and every person who wants to come to Madonna di Campiglio and live the 3Tre experience, and that's another big reason why being an “Open Event” means so much to us.

For the 2014 3Tre, two special Open areas have been designated for people with disabilities, to give them the opportunity to enjoy the event in full: the Wheelchairs Open Area, located in the parterre, where 12 people between disabled and their accompanying persons will be accommodated, and the Stands Open Area, inside the 3Tre stands, with 30 seats dedicated to disabled people and their accompanying persons - the latter reserved to people with non-motor impairments. A Special Assistance team will be constantly on site in such areas, and special hardware and services will be setup to make sure everybody can have a great time at 3Tre, in plain serenity and safety.
