Joe Ogden and Jenny Mashiter, two of the rising stars on the snow took top spoils at the first round of the Indoor Series at Xscape, sponsored by Salomon and supported by Racer Ready. With the races clashing with the Sunderland Club National and Grand Prix weekend, the smaller than normal field was nevertheless a quality field. Both Ogden and Mashiter won both runs in convincing fashion as they made a good start to looking to claim the £100 cash first prize for the Age Group Series winners. Although the courses were not as hard as could have been expected the smooth running of the courses meant that this was ideal conditions for those looking to keep the skiing legs in order without hitting the plastic slopes. In the men's race, Ogden was followed home by Runner Up at the British Children Championships, Aaron Tipping with Tom Francis scrapping home in third ahead of Jack Evans and Neil McQuoid. Jenny Mashiter was comfortably ahead of Kayleigh Hill and Emma Wigman who took joint second in the girls race. The next round takes place at Xscape in Castleford in June.
