Round 3 and the excitement rose yet again.  An element of reality hit in as Xscape had laid fresh snow yet it had not quite jelled with the existing snow.  With prize money up for grabs for the series age group winners, this was a race that held added interest.  In the end Mr Indoor Ski Racing, Joe Ogden, finally found his match as he was challenged by Will Manns and succumbed to the pressure.  Manns winning his first race since the Grand Prix on the plastic last summer.  Jack Evans beat his long time rival TJ Baldwin into second in the men's race.  In the female race, Kayleigh Hill took overall spoils ahead of Monica Gash and Rachel Tinkler from Scotland.  Tinkler, a first year Children 2 racer, showed that she is one for the future as she was only just off the pace of the older two racers.

In the Children 1 age group William Thompson took the spoils ahead of Max Greenfield and David Freeman.  Abbie Macie won the girls race ahead of Eloise Greenhalgh and Rebecca Thompson.

Children 2 saw victory for Jack Evans (with second overall!) ahead of Nicholas Crawford and George Harris.  Tinkler took the age group prize ahead of Nikki Wilmot and Kirsty Atkinson.

Junior 1 was won by TJ Baldwin ahead of James Foster and John O Hara, all three finishing in the top 10.  Lauren Cadmen won the Junior 1 girls with 4th overall ahead of Natalie Atkinson and Harri Gordon Lee.

The Junior 2 age group in the boys was won by Daniel Foster after a low entry.  Kayleigh Hill and Monica Gash took the overall top 2 as well as this age group with Mikaela Wilmot in third.

The Seniors was the closest fought age group with five of the age group finishing in the top 10.  Will Manns won a head of Tom Francis and Alan Pickles who finished in joint second.  With one age group win apiece between them it will be winner takes all for the end of the season race at Castleford.  Both have 12 points and should either of them slip up, Racer Ready's editor, Neil McQuoid, will be their to pick up the pieces!  Kerry Turnock took the Senior spoils with Cathy Beck second and Emma Harley taking third.

The Masters age group held their own age group race after each run.  18 racers took to the course, 3 women and 15 men and with the focus being the fun, Tom Ondrusz, on his 40th birthday in his birthday cat suit, lead after the first run yet using a combination of old school technique and laziness, his lead was overhauled by Neil McQuoid on the second run.  James Le May took third.  John Williams won the 45 - 55 year old age group with Keith Birchell the 56 + age group in the men.  Kerry Turnock won the ladies race ahead of Cathy Beck and Sarah Campbell Woodward.  The Masters are holding another race at the Castleford race, though for this race they will race with the main field.
