The Wycombe Club National drew an exciting entry and it was sad that the quality of racing was spoiled by the lack or water that saw the sprinkler system run out of water for the second run.  With many of the racers using the first run to 'test the water' so to speak before attacking the second run, this opportunity was denied them.  Craig Ruddick was the unluckiest of the racers after having put in a blistering first run to then be two seconds slower on the second. Virtually all the racers suffered in the second run with slower times.  Despite the recent hot weather, this is something that the slopes must ensure is in order when hosting major races on the dry ski slope Callander.

The warm weather and many using the race as a warm up for the European Championship the following day, all combined for some attacking skiing.

Antony Heaversedge produced a stunning fight back to come from behind to win the men's race.  Trailing Ruddock going into the final run, Heaversedge demolished the third run and gave Ruddock to much to chase.  Ruddock was only just able to hang on for second ahead of Marc Telling.  The racing had an international flavour in BARA's head coach, Christian Perner did something that none of his World Cup stars have ever managed - he raced on plastic!  Perner also brought fellow coaches from Austria with him to race, Marcus Perner, Peter 'Flauti' Flautner and Alex '8 FIS points' Koll.  A healthy contingent from Ireland as well adding to the International spice!

Abby Clifford demonstrated the talent she has as she won the female race.  The top stars of plastic racing, Jayme Baggio and Jo Ryding, may not have been at the race but Clifford raced with maturity and confidence to rack up a good win ahead of Rowan Vernon and Anouska Callander.  Colette Carpenter and Charlotte Evans rounded out the top five.

Alessia Thomas Jackson skied within herself to take the Children 1 girls age group (7th overall) ahead of Emily Evans and Charlotte Jesse.  All three girls are great talents for the future yet have learn that greater enjoyment will come from success.  By fine tuning the technique, both on snow and plastic, and not just running gates all the time, they will reap the long term benefits.  Dan Evans won the boys race ahead of David Askew and Zak Jesse.

Charlotte Evans has established herself as one of the top Children 2 girl racers this season.  Fourth overall was enough for her to comfortably take the age group ahead of Kirsty Hatcher and Hannah Knowles.  The All England in September will see her able to try and avenge her second place to Harriet Steggles in the Grand Prix Series.  Dan Curtis took a long awaited victory in the boys race ahead of Greg Straw and Andrew Watson.

Junior 1 saw victory to Abby Clifford ahead of Colette Carpenter and Stacey Luck.  Clifford has steadily risen through the age groups and now has the strength and technique to start challenging for overall honours.  If she can learn to let her skis run and not succumb to mistakes, Clifford has a big future both on snow and plastic.  Lloyd Papantoniou won the men's race on his home slope ahead of Jai Geyer and Andy Roose.  For Papantoniou it could have been so much better had be been able to hold his nerves going into the last run.  Third overall, Papantoniou was unable to keep the speed going and dropped down to 6th overall.

Junior 2 saw Rowan Vernon take the spoils ahead of Anouska Callander and Christina Pennock.  Heaversedge's overall win saw him also take the age group ahead of Brian Byrne from Ireland and Oli Robinson in third.

Holly Cutler won the Seniors ahead of Kirsty Stevens and Sarah Thornton.  Catherine Reed won the Masters age group.  Craig Ruddock and Marc Telling took the top two spots in the Seniors group with David Hatcher taking third.  The Seniors saw Marcus Perner and Christian Perner taking the top two places ahead of James Gambril.
