The Women's downhill takes place on the second Sunday of the championships up in Santa Catarina.  30 minutes away from Bormio, all the girls races are taking place in Santa Catarina.

The first training run was dominated by the crashes at the first jump.

The second training run was cancelled due to the weather conditions.

After the protests about the jump, Race Director, Rainer Senoner announced that the jury had decided to smooth the jump by 30cm: "The jump at the end of the Canalino will be lowered by 30cm.  With this change athletes will be allowed to race in full safety.  They will jump no more than 25 - 30 metres in comparison to the 45 - 47 they jumped in the previous training run."
