SKI AND SNOWBOARD CHALLENGE IN AID OF THE NSPCC SNO!zone at Xscape, West Yorkshire’s premier indoor ski slope, is hosting a unique ski and snowboarding charity event, in aid of the NSPCC. The Shred It challenge is the latest event organised by Can You HACK it? team who organise challenge events in aid of the children’s charity.Shred It takes place on Saturday 17 May 2008 and is a 12-hour ski and snowboarding challenge event, open to advanced and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The event will feature on and off slope challenges, time trials and various freestyle challenges. The slope will feature slaloms, moguls, and a host of rails and jumps! Entrants must be in teams of three and can be a mixture of skiers and/or snowboarders.Helen Verity community fundraising manager for the NSPCC said: “Shred It is a fantastic opportunity for keen skiers and snowboarders to take part in a truly unique event while raising money for vulnerable children. The 12-hour event will involve loads of challenging on-slope activities as well as live DJs on the slopes and in the SNO!bar to keep everyone entertained and exhilarated. Fran Hennessy, events manager at SNO!zone said: “This is the first time we’ve held such an exciting and fun charity event here and we’re all really happy to be raising money for the NSPCC. We are working hard to devise a number of intermediate and advanced challenges to push competitors to the limit! It’ll be a fantastic day, so please contact us and book your place now!”
Shred It takes place on the 17 May from 10am – 10pm and is open to intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders over 18 years old only. Competitors must enter in teams of three and pay a registration fee of £50 per person. There is a minimum sponsorship target of £350 per team excluding registration fee. Sponsored by Faber Maunsell.
