Snow Centre plays host to top Olympic Skier
The weather may be looking up but winter fever has certainly hit the
South East.
This weekend
London-born Chemmy is currently gearing up for this year’s World
Cup, which starts in October, and for the 2010 Winter Olympics in
Chemmy Alcott said: “I am delighted to be at the new Snow Centre, it
is fantastic that we now have such a great snowsports facility so
close to the capital. Hopefully more people will be inspired to pick
up the sport and with the quality of training on offer at The Snow
Centre, we should be seeing more bright stars coming through the
ranks very soon!”
The £23million Snow Centre opened last month and is the only indoor
snowsports complex in the south to hold the prestigious Centre of
Excellence status, given by the British Association of Snowsport
Instructors (BASI), making it one of the most qualified snow schools
outside of the Alps.
Peter Gillespie, director of snowsports at The Snow Centre, said:
“We pride ourselves on the quality of coaching available here at The
Snow Centre and the master classes held by Chemmy on Saturday were
an inspiration to all. From beginners to budding Chemmys, The Snow
Centre caters for all levels of ability and customers can expect
nothing but the best when it comes to the quality of instruction and
facilities.”
