For the Best Ski and Board Deals.....Bulgaria is Best!

Last year saw the opening of Snow and Wake Bulgaria’s new hotel, part of Bulgaria’s newest and most unique accommodation and activities package for the 2009/2010 winter season providing affordable luxury at the foot of the Borovets Mountains - Europe’s best kept secret…now there’s even more on offer for the upcoming winter season…

Snow and Wake Bulgaria (www.snowandwakebulgaria.com) continues to dominate the Borovets area with one of the most unique ski and board packages available. Operated by ski and snowboard instructors from England and Europe, Snow and Wake Bulgaria has repackaged the package deal – perfect for groups, families and individuals looking for wicked conditions, top quality accommodation, equipment and coaching all at an affordable price.

What’s the Difference?

This is a holiday situation created for skiers and boarders - by skiers and boarders! Within your winter sports holiday visitors are offered the choice between three different accommodation options catering for parties of 1-50 people. Accommodation, instruction, partial board, equipment and transfers to and from Sofia Airport are included.

"Until now package ski holidays were made up of separate accommodation, transfers and ski school all from different companies meaning sometimes confusion and a lack of communication resulted,” says Matt Pigden, Operations Manager of Snow and Wake Bulgaria.

“We have taken the personal service ideals from our summer holidays to the slopes and in our third season the numbers of returning customers proves that it’s working. We have one set price all season and that's what it cost. We don’t hike up our prices during holiday periods. This holiday is about the sport," said Pigden.

The only English ski and board school in the Borovets area, Snow and Wake Bulgaria links a board or ski instructor with each of the three accommodation sites. Their main priority is to provide visitors with the best possible coaching during the stay. Visitors will not be farmed out to local ski schools with groups of 20-1.

With B.A.S.I, C.A.S.I and B.S.F instructors and coaches on hand, beginners will receive top quality instruction and coaching if that is the need...or....for adrenaline junkies and the more advanced, the Snow and Wake team will take you to find amazing advanced off-piste gems and wicked snow kickers and parks. There is up to 70km of pisted runs and extra miles of brilliant off-piste alpine powder. For advanced off-piste days the ski-doo and snow cats are used to explore the white stuff.

Fantastic road trips are also available (cost extra, not included in package) to the Vitosha Mountain and Ariana Snow Fun Park both situated in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria.

Why Go East?

Borovets and the Rila Mountains sees some of the most perfect powder conditions in Europe with two metres of snow depth at any time between mid-December through April due to the cold, dry air found in Bulgaria. Borovets caters to all level of skiers and boarders, but is still one of Europe’s best-kept secrets, which translates into beautifully clear runs and less congestion in the queues. Lift passes are available from around £150 per week placing them amongst the most reasonable in Europe.

The resorts are ever developing in an eco-friendly way. New lifts are being installed all the time with new runs opening every year for the next 4 years as part of the 152km Super Borovets Program.

Accommodation Makes All the Difference

Within your winter sports holiday visitors have the opportunity to choose from three different accommodation options - Dragushinovo Boutique Chalet Hotel, Dragushinovo Villa or Istrum Park.

The Dragushinovo Boutique Chalet Hotel was just opened last year. The new hotel’s grounds are located in a charming rustic village just minutes from the ski lifts at Borovets. In nearby villages the enchantment of Eastern Europe is still visible with horse-drawn carriages being used to bring firewood to local residents. The lobby bar sits near a large log fire and on the second floor is a game room. Each bedroom features cable TV, wi-fi Internet and mini bar. Outside on the terrace, you’ll find a large hot tub, the perfect way to unwind after a long day on the slopes.

In addition to the Dragushinovo Boutique Hotel, there are two other Snow and Wake locations for you to choose from, located near the slopes of Borovets, and all follow the same ethos - personalised service top quality instruction and exquisite accommodation.
