Didier Cuche stays with HEAD for two more years
Downhill champion Didier Cuche is to end his career as a member of
the HEAD Racing Team. The Swiss athlete renewed his equipment supply
contract for another two years until 2012, meaning he will certainly
be staying with HEAD, the company with which he celebrated his
greatest successes, for the remainder of his active career.
Over the past few years, Cuche was one of the most consistent top
athletes. With his trademark – the trick he performes after having
won a race – he stands for success and top ranks, which was of
course always reflected in his World Cup rankings. For the last four
years, the 35-year old has always been among the top three in the
Overall World Cup ranking; during this time he won four small
crystal globes, three for the supreme discipline, the downhill. Last
season he scored five victories, among them the double success in
Kitzbühel. All in all, he has so far won as many as 14 World Cup
races.
