The Race

The Downhill is the blue riband event of the World Championships and takes place on the middle Saturday.  This year two British guys race, Finlay Mickel and Roger Cruickshank. Watch how the action unfolds over the week with training on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and final training on Friday.  There will also be a downhill as part of the Combined on Thursday but that is a separate event.

Spice was added to the proceedings when late on Monday evening a number of the top racers including Miller, Franz, Strobl, Gruber, Grugger.  The rumours abounded that the racers disqualified were saving their new race suits for the all important qualifying run on Tuesday.  With bad weather coming in it is possible that the weather may force the cancellation of the training run on Tuesday.
