Due to warm weather and fresh snow covering the treacherous "Stelvio" course, the men's training run planned for Tuesday had to be cancelled in the morning - and so also the men's downhill race scheduled for Wednesday as announced Monday afternoon at the captains' meeting by FIS Officials.
This helped Switzerland's Didier Cuche to secure his second consecutive downhill World Cup title - with a lead of only five points on USA's Bode Miller, the recent winner at Kvifjtell.
