Tipping strikes for Glory in Czech children's races Aaron Tipping - Czech Champion!! On a steep and icy course, 14 year-old Aaron Tipping laid down an early challenge to the rest of the field, taking the lead after the first run of today's Czech Championships Giant Slalom competition in Ricky v Orlice Horach. His second run demonstrated confidence and maturity, and he produced another excellent performance on a slope which tested the best, extending his final winning margin over Czech racer Jonas Kobr to 1.24 seconds. Team mates Harry Brown and Adam Piper also came in strongly in fourth and fifth positions, and Luke Laidlaw was placed 5th in the younger age group. Aaron trains at the British Ski Academy in Les Houches; he and the rest of the team have been supported in the Czech Republic by coaches Kiro Kotev, Dave Morris and Christian Perner, all of whom were delighted to have a British victory today. Tipping was quietly 'very pleased' with his result, and is looking forward with confidence to the international races later this week. For the British team, and for all our supporters, it has been an excellent day! |
