Massimiliano Blardone, a new leader

for the Dynastar-Lange Racing Team

The best Italian giant slalom racer since the great era of Alberto Tomba, Massimiliano "Max" Blardone,

ranked 6th in the world in 2008, has every intention of making full use of all his potential to play the

leading part with his new equipment suppliers, Dynastar and Lange, in his chosen events for the World Cup

at Val d’Isère and the Olympic Games in Vancouver.

For Lionel Direz, Dynastar racing manager, this arrival is the result of a strong desire to build one of the

best technical male teams of the moment with the Frenchman Julien Lizeroux – returning to the Team

– and Steve Missillier, also confirmed as part of the Mont Blanc team. Competitiveness, enthusiasm, closeness

and complimenting each others performance within the technical events will be this new team's key words.

On three occasions, M. Blardone was very close to carrying off the general classification of the World Cup,

finishing 3rd in 2004, 2nd in 2006 and 2007. On four occasions already, Max dominated on the most prestigious

runs of the circuit, including Bad Kleinkirchheim last December. In fact, he felt particularly at ease on this particular track(s) and on frozen snow which enabled him to show off his great technical qualities, his ardour and his total commitment to the race.

"This coming season(s) will be particularly important for me and my supporters. I intend to stand out in the coming major meetings, particularly on the difficult "Face de Bellevarde" at Val d’Isère. This new collaboration with the Dynastar and Lange experts represents an exciting and very motivating challenge. The equipment has shown itself to be very competitive these last few years and I feel well in this structure. I don't live far from France so it will be easy for me to contribute to the development of equipment that is perfectly adapted to my needs. I need a ski that is both aggressive and stable in extreme conditions and I will have the chance of having made-to-measure equipment" he explained recently.

The main racers in the Dynastar-Lange Team

Beside the Swiss racer Dominique Gisin, Italy will undoubtedly be well represented in the racing team with the Fanchini sisters, Nadia and Elena, who are being challenged by their little sister Sabrina. A fine family affair to be followed closely. Nadia, forbidden to race for many months due to extensive medical examinations, made a noticeable return in the World Cup in January 2008, mounting the 3rd step of the podium twice in just one month's racing: a good omen for the next season.

The great American hope with the sparkling character, Resi Stiegler (US), making her first podium last season in the slalom at Reiteralm – just before her terrible fall at Lienz – will be back again next autumn to confirm her talent.

In France, the Dynastar Team may rely on its technicians, Julien Lizeroux and Steve Missillier and also on Yannick Bertrand, called Bambou, always in search of a podium and with confirmation of his excellent performances in training, and on the hopes Thomas Frey, François Place, Norman Blanc and Alexandre Pinturault.
