Vonn takes the Gold, Mancuso Silver in US 1 - 2, Goergl matches her mother to take bronze

Lindsey Vonn came to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games with one thing on her mind: To win the downhill.  In bright, cold yet glorious and perfect conditions, Vonn gave the crowd what they wanted: High speed racing with technical excellence. Chasing Julia Mancuso's time down was never going to be easy but Vonn, beaten only once in Downhill this season, was more than a match for it.  This was a long and gnarly course that caused a number of racers to struggle and the race was marred by a number of high speed crashes.  Lizzi Goergl took third for Austria just ahead of her team-mate Andrea Fischbacher.
