The joys of the Internet and getting information around...

Well this was the third day of no action down at Creekside. This time the news made it onto the TV station before I had even left the flat so was able to have the right clothing for the....press centre. Some days are just meant to be spent in the dull confines of the press centre catching up while on others there is more to do. Today has been one of those where I have been able to catch up on some of the last few weeks work. Am still not up to date but have made inroads. But what of the Olympics....

The joy of the internet today has meant that I have been able to catch up on the whereabouts of many of the racers both in Europe and North America. Had a really humourous chat with one young racer who thought that I was in Whistler in holiday and did not know that the Olympics were on here. She soon realised the error of her ways and made me promise I did not reveal her name.  As if I would! While the Skier Cross and Boardcross team headed back into town so that they could see the courses being prepared for them, also coming into town were the parents of Ed Drake. It is great to see that the camaradery of skiing world has allowed Ed's parents to come to witness their son's greatest moment. A few years ago Ed had a bet with his younger sister as to who would make the Olympics first. Sophie is a fine rower and for a while it looked as though she would pip her older brother to the post. Well with Ed due to race in the Downhill in the morning, it looks like Ed has won the bet. I doubt that Sophie will mind and she will be cheering her brother on loudest no doubt!

Just got the opportunity to go to the awards for tonight and have passed them on to Bet Garner who is here for the Ski Club so hope all is going well for her down there in Celebration Plaza - I think that is what it is called!

Have spent the last hour hoping to help Ed's mum get into watching her son and think I may have cracked it so here we go again!

And now to go and have a drink - will expand on this later (not the drink but today....)

Missing people and hoping that the medical people can sort something out.....heres praying!

Just hearing the bad news that Cypress is struggling to hold events.....
