Swiss Olympic Champion crashes in Super G training in Zermatt and tears his ACL
Defago is the reigning Olympic Downhill Champion and a very popular racer amongst his peers. Swedish star Hans Olsson posted the news on his Facebook site:
"I just got some terrible news, one of the big stars and
profiles is out for the season! Didier Defago crashed during a
Super G training in Zermatt, and torn his ACL. Didier is rating
Olympic champion, winner of Kitz & Lauberhorn races. He is one
of the big guns in the world cup! It is a big loss for the tour,
not to have Didier racing this winter. But he is already taking
about getting back on his skis in April 2011, so don´t worry he
will be back! For you guys who understand German… All the best
for your recovery Didier! /Hans"
